How to install your own fonts on Windows
Fonts bring life to any piece of writing. It also helps to express who you are and sets the mood for your readers. But in today’s world of online writing, Install Otf Windows computer or windows 10 can be a daunting task.

Downloading and Installing fonts

This tutorial will, however, focus on installing otf (OpenType) and ttf (TrueType) font formats on Windows. The format of the font file you have can be found by its extension. For example, a font file having the name “Quango.ttf” tells that it’s a “ttf” font type while the name of the font style is “Quango’.

Now that you have an idea about font formats, let’s go through the Install Otf Windows process step by step.
1) Step 1: Download the fonts
First things first, if you are looking for unique fonts you will have to download them externally. While most of what Windows offer is sufficient, the list might not contain a font that fits your needs. So, your best bet would be to download fonts from a 3rd party website. Most fonts are downloaded as compressed files. If the file you downloaded is compressed as well, just right-click on it and select “Extract All”

Method #1: Just Right Click
Probably the easiest method on the list. Right-click on the font file and select “install”

While this method is easy, it does not show you a preview of the font you are about to install.
Method #2: Using Windows Font Viewer
Using this method allows you to preview the font you are about to install. Simply open the font file by double-clicking it or “Right click > Open”. Once opened, a pop-up window (Windows Font Viewer) will show you how the font looks. It will contain the following text “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” along with the numbers from 0 to 9 and some punctuation. Once you are done previewing it, you can Install Otf Windows by clicking on the “Install” button on the top left-hand corner.
Method #3: Using Font Folder in Windows
Although the methods discussed so far are easy, they are time-consuming if you have to install several fonts instead of just one. A simple solution to this problem is using the folder allocated for fonts by Windows at “C:\Windows\Fonts”. You can quickly access this folder by pasting the path “C:\Windows\Fonts” in the navigation bar of This PC (My Computer for older versions of Windows).

Test installed fonts
When you are done installing, it’s usually a good idea to check if the applications in your device have recognized the installed font. One way of doing it is by opening “Microsoft Word” or any other application that allows you to type and select fonts. Once the application is open, try searching for the font you installed.
